Meet Mrs. Williams-Bey
Knowledge is wealth, and I want to share mine with you.
I'm a seasoned CEO with over 14 years of experience and three businesses. Today, I'm thriving – but that wasn't always the case.
My journey has taken me from barely completing high school to a college graduate, multi-business owner, award-winning author, and motivational speaker. The path to get here wasn't easy.
I believe in sharing my experiences so others can avoid my mistakes – and find their path to success, faster. I now serve as a consultant to aspiring entrepreneurs, start-up companies, and established businesses.
Who is Mrs. Williams-Bey?
I’m an author, speaker, consultant, and business mogul. I’m a three-time business owner and the founder of Heaven Sent Child Care LLC, Spring Forth LLC, and Dream Productions Inc. (co-owner).
I’m a six-time published author. In 2016, I was recognized as an ACHI magazine award-winning author. You can check out my books here.
All of that? It doesn’t mean much. Accolades and accomplishments aside, I am just Cynthia: a wife, a mother, and a person who lives to serve others.
Here’s My Real Story
It felt like everyone was counting me out. So, I decided to count myself back in.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, I felt overlooked by society from an early age. School was a challenge for me, and I barely graduated from high school.
I relocated to Richmond, Virginia, right after 9/11. I was on my own, a single mom with no support system. Uncertain about my purpose in life, I got a job at a bank.
I was trying to make my way, providing for my son while struggling to fit in corporate America. When my son got sick, I found the system failing me. Corporate America doesn't cater to single moms.
I was lost, unsure how to care for my son and keep my job. So, I cried out to God for help – and he answered.
Sitting in my cubicle, I was struck by a memory of my mom caring for me and my siblings. She was a single mom, managing six kids with support from family, friends, and neighbors. As they say, it takes a village.
That flashback showed me my future. I knew I wanted to found a daycare. That was the start of Heaven Sent Child Care. I started it in my home, with no capital, no savings, and no backup plan.
In 2011, I moved the business from my one-bedroom apartment to my first commercial facility. I graduated from college and earned my Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Development that same year.
And I hustled, learning, improving, and growing my business every year.
Why Should You Trust Me with Your Story?
Everybody has potential. I help people tap into theirs.
My number one focus is serving. I have a strong passion for helping people, especially individuals who have been overlooked, marginalized, or dealt a bad hand.
This commitment to service runs deep. I'm the daughter of Wilma-Jean & James "Rocky" Robinson, the founder of the Bedford-Stuyvesant Volunteer Ambulance Corps, the first African American volunteer ambulance organization.
Here are some of the ways I love to serve:
Under my previous ministry, I served for 11 years and led the Community Outreach team. I have also served as a missionary and traveled to Honduras twice in the ministry’s service.
I also give back by supporting the Care of Children Haiti charity, based out of Ville De Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, with monthly food and support.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, my non-profit fed over 4,000 meals to families in need from May to August 2020 and raised over $5,000 to help struggling daycare businesses in the community.
I serve on the board of The Faces Behind A Purpose for You, a non-profit based in Richmond, Virginia committed to serving domestic violence victims.
My Motto: God Can’t Bless a Mess
That's a favorite saying of mine. It might sound harsh, but it's just a kind reminder – a reminder that if you set yourself up for success, God will make sure success finds you. That's what I help people do.
One of the most important ways I give back is through helping people like you. With my motivational speaking and business coaching services, I help people find and manifest their purpose in life.
Here is a sample of my media appearances:
I was featured on Entrepreneur's podcast “Problem Solvers” with Jason Feifer. Listen to "Seeing Opportunity During the Coronavirus.”
I've appeared on NBC12 WWBT with Jasmine Turner for my contribution to the book Unchain Me Mama.
I've been featured in Richmond’s , on “The Real Talk with Monica” Radio Show, and was invited by Childcare Decisions 2020 as a panel speaker alongside Virginia's First Lady Pamela Northam to help guide daycare providers and educators on navigating the pandemic and reopening their daycare centers.
Better yet, get to know me in person as a motivational speaker or small business and daycare industry trainer.
